Maria Konitshek
Director of Operations
Maria Konitshek has been
involved in pageantry for over ten
years, judging at the local, state,
regional and national levels.
As the Director of Operations for the
Miss Teen America Organization, Maria is
responsible for the day-to-day functions
of the company as well as the planning
and implementation of the three national
pageants. In addition to serving as
Contestant Coordinator to the state
delegates as well as Advisor to the Miss
Teen America State Directors, she has
also served as business manager and
traveling companion to Miss Teen America
and the Connecticut state delegates.
Maria is the Director and Executive
Producer of the Miss Connecticut Teen
America Program, a position she took
over when her daughter, Heather
Konitshek (Orawsky) completed her reign
as Miss Teen America 1999.
She is a graduate of Gibbs College in
Norwalk, Connecticut where she majored
in Business. Since her involvement with
the Miss Teen
America Program, Maria has gone on to
become the lead Web Designer for
www.missteenamerica.com, Graphic Design
Artist and co-Editor of Teen America
annual magazine.
As a resident of Darien, Connecticut,
Maria has been active in her community
with various organizations, most notably
the Girl Scouts and assisted with
Graphic Design for the Darien High
School yearbook.
She resides in Darien with her husband
Ron and their son Gary.
