Lindsay Rae Dobbs

Greetings from the International City of Warner Robins! I am thrilled to be your 2013 Miss Teen America, Lindsay Rae Dobbs. Throughout high school, I was an active Varsity Cheerleader and Varsity Tennis Team member. I participated in the FFA, FCA, Beta Club, and Partner’s Club where I spent time mentoring the special needs students in my school. After graduating with Honors from Cook High School, I completed my first year of college at Kennesaw State University where I balanced being a Spirit Squad Cheerleader and making the Dean’s List. Currently a 19 year old sophomore, I am attending the University of North Georgia Oconee Campus in Athens, Georgia  pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.  I enjoy modeling, shopping, working out, and spending time with family and friends.

Being selected as your Miss Teen America was nothing short of a dream come true for me: a dream that includes many responsibilities, obligations, nationwide appearances, and volunteering opportunities. My goal this year is to reach out to as many children with cancer as possible and share my passion for childhood cancer awareness across the nation. I will continue visiting elementary schools and encouraging students to become involved in hat drives by donating hats and writing personal letters for children who are suffering with cancer. Delivering the hats gives me the opportunity to visit with children who have so much of their lives taken away. I have been so humbled to give these children hope and confidence in themselves. There’s nothing more fulfilling than to know I am able to put a smile on their faces. I am excited to expand what I love to do, not only in the state of Georgia, but across America.

Participating in the Miss Teen America organization has provided me with so many assets. I was able to make many wonderful friends, become involved with many community service organizations, and gain the confidence in myself to reach out to others and make a difference in the lives of the people around me. None of this would have been possible without the support of my family and friends. I am most thankful for the small town values instilled in me from growing up in Alapaha, Georgia. These values gave me the confidence and support to reach my goals. My advice to others is to never give up, have faith, always work hard, and remember that it’s not always about winning. Doing your best, letting your true personality shine through, and deciding what you take from your experiences are most important. Never forget to ALWAYS believe in yourself! I always keep faith in my favorite Bible verse from Philippians 4:13, “With God, ALL things are possible.” This will forever be my motivation in life, and I know that without my Savior I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish my dreams. I would like to thank Ms. Nikki Clark and the entire Miss Teen America staff for providing me with this amazing opportunity and putting together a national pageant that I will never forget! I look forward to having an amazing year and making the most of this unbelievable honor!
