Miss New York Teen America

Issue of Concern:
Blood Donation. When I was 14 I was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia and needed an emergency blood transfusion. Even though I don't have a rare blood type it was difficult for the doctors to find a matching bag of blood that wouldn't be rejected by my body. After searching the entire New York Blood Bank, they were able to find only ONE bag of blood which was the difference between life and death. I want to share my story with as many people as possible out of hopes that more people will donate even a small amount of their blood that could potentially save another person's life just like mine. I encourage everyone to learn about their eligibility to donate and do so if possible.

I love to play the piano (I am a classically trained pianist and have been playing for the last ten years), swimming (I have been swimming on my high school's varsity team for all four years and was the captain my senior year), theater productions, and traveling, especially to different tournaments with my speech and debate team!

In the fall I will be attending Fordham University-Gabelli School of Business. I was also one of the 20 students accepted into the Global Business Honors Program where I will be able to take advanced classes as well as have the opportunity to travel to a new country every year. My goal is to graduate from this program with an enhanced education, and prepared to work in the business world especially as one of the few women on Wall Street. Look out for the girl in the pink suit!
